Moments
I met a light one day,
not the kind that blinds or burns,
but the kind that warms quietly,
filling the spaces
where shadows once lingered.
You carry a sweetness,
not heavy, but bright,
a smile that seems to dance
with every word you speak,
bursting with energy,
zest for life spilling over
like sunlight on a morning field.
You remind me
how rare it is to meet someone
who holds gratitude in their hands,
who wears it like a second skin,
who sees the world
not as it is,
but as it could be.
And though the time was brief,
the longing lingers –
to know more of the colors you hold,
to watch how your laughter
shapes the air,
to walk a little closer
to the brilliance you bring.
If chance permits,
if the universe wills it,
I hope to meet that light again,
to feel its glow,
and let it stir the quiet places in me.
