I Smile For You

I smile for you,
even when the clouds gather,
like ancient grief above me.
The earth folds into silence,
the rain falls with sorrows,
yet your presence rises within.
A warm flame beneath storms.

I smile for you,
the night cannot extinguish this,
the secret rivers of name.
Shadows press upon my shoulders,
still I hear your laughter,
like bells across distant seas.

I smile for you,
though the world is heavy.
Each drop of sorrow lightens,
when I imagine your eyes
two windows where dawn leans,
two fires storms cannot drown.

I smile for you,
because love, when it’s true,
is stronger than loud thunder,
gentler than falling leaves,
patient as the deep roots,
clinging to mountain’s dark heart.

I smile for you,
in the darkest hour known,
in the deepest silent night,
in deserts of loneliness vast
because within me still blooms,
your light I carry unbroken,
through every storm that comes.
