A small magazine of poems by one poet
Hi and welcome to The Fat Poet. I am Owen, and for more than 25 years I have been writing poems about connection, love, memory, grief, appetite, and the small moments that keep insisting they matter.
Poetry has always been my refuge: a room where ordinary life can take its coat off and tell the truth. Whether it is a lover’s silence, the ache of an old song, or the strange courage of another morning, I try to write the moment clearly enough that someone else can recognise themselves inside it.
The Fat Poet is a personal archive and a living magazine. Some poems are new. Some have travelled a long road to get here. All of them are offered as little doors: enter where you like, stay as long as you need.
Do you publish new work regularly?
Yes, though I prefer the honest rhythm of the poem over the false rhythm of the algorithm.
Can I share a poem?
Yes. Please share links back to the original poem and keep the author’s credit attached.
Who writes the poems?
Owen Sesaldo writes as The Fat Poet.
